Spring 2019 Fundraiser
GOAL: $10,000 RAISED SO FAR: $8,915
Dear Yavneh Members and Friends,
I would like to share with you how much our vibrant community has to anticipate and to encourage your generous response to Yavneh’s spring fundraiser, which helps us complete the current fiscal year in the black and plan for the needs of the next (beginning July 1).
Reb Raachel is on the path to retiring as Yavneh’s principal spiritual leader. This does not mean that she will cease to be a vital part of our community. For the immediate future, Reb Raachel has expressed her willingness to continue overseeing our High Holy Day services, teaching small group classes, and leading worship services on occasion.
Our community has been blessed, not just with Reb Raachel, but also with our Cantor and our Community Director. With Cantor Karen leading our worship team and Lewis overseeing our administrative and programming needs, we have a strong organization in place.
We are interviewing several individuals wishing to serve as Yavneh’s next principal spiritual leader. Please be assured that we will not compromise in this search, which we have no need to rush. Within our community we have a wealth of talented, trained individuals ready to take on roles in worship and pastoral care in the interim.
Additionally, we note that the wider Jewish Renewal community includes an incredible array of dynamic and inspiring leaders. As Reb Raachel steps back from her leadership role, we hope to be able to bring many of these individuals to our community for weekend visits, providing varied and exciting dimensions to our worship and study experiences in coming years.
Your financial support will assure our capacity to mature beyond our founding aspirations and to thrive under renewed leadership, vision, and accomplishments. As you have experienced, Yavneh provides a full congregational schedule of activities on an extremely small budget. As is typical in many synagogues, membership commitments account for just 50% of our modest operating costs. For the remainder, we rely on additional contributions from our community, including both our members and our other supporters.
We need you to contribute generously to our 2019 Spring fundraiser. To meet our budget for this fiscal year and to enter the coming year with adequate resources, we need to raise $10,000.
Please make your donation by clicking here, or, if you prefer, mail your check to Yavneh, 6325 Falls of Neuse, Suite 35-358, Raleigh, NC 27615. Either way, know that you will have my heartfelt appreciation, along with that of Reb Raachel, the Yavneh Board, and the entire Yavneh community for your much needed support.
