Celebrate Passover with Yavneh & Friends

Second night of Passover, Saturday, April 16th, 2022, beginning promptly at 6:00 pm in Founders Hall at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh.

Sorry - registration for this event is closed.

People from all religious faiths and backgrounds are invited to join us as we celebrate Passover's liberation into divine service. UUFR members and friends are especially encouraged to participate!

Using Rabbi Ellen Bernstein's Passover haggadah, "The Promise of the Land," we will explore both our freedom and the role of nature and land in the seder and in our lives. Rabbi Bernstein is the founder of Shomrei Adamah, Keepers of the Earth, which she describes as the first national Jewish environmental organization. The haggadah is illustrated by Galia Goodman, an internationally known artist based in Durham, NC.

Our meal will be catered by Sassool Mediterranean Cafe. There will be ample vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available. We'll also have traditional Passover favorites! (Please note that while the meal will follow general kosher and kosher for Passover guidelines, it will not be strictly kosher.)

Never been to a seder before? Don't worry - first timers are welcome (and encouraged)!

Schedule
  • 5:30 pm - doors open - please arrive early so that we can begin promptly at 6pm!
  • 6:00 pm - Seder service begins
  • 7:30 pm - festive Passover meal is served
  • Following the meal - short conclusion to service, followed by visiting and open-ended discussion to whenever!
