This year Passover begins at sunset on Monday, April 10th.
Celebrate Passover with Yavneh & Friends
On the second night of Passover, Tuesday, April 11th, participate in Yavneh's third annual UnSeder. We will be gathering at 6:00 pm in the Community Life Center at St. Mark's to enjoy leftovers from the first Seder and engage in lively open-ended discussion.
People from all religious faiths and backgrounds are invited to join us as we celebrate Passover's liberation into divine service. We will explore from our individual spiritual or religious perspectives what it means to accept the gifts and responsibilities of freedom and to struggle against oppression as a person of faith. Please invite family and friends from any/all religious traditions to help expand the conversation.
Contribute to the Passover potluck by bringing items suitable for the holiday - either left-over from your first-night Seder or prepared fresh for this event. It's Passover, so no chametz please (any food product made from wheat, barley, rye, oats, spelt, or their derivatives, which has leavened/risen). See this website for an overview, and be aware that Yavneh welcomes foods acceptable to Sephardic Jews as listed. We will provide matza, wine, and salad dressings for the meal.
Never been to a Seder (or UnSeder) before? Don't worry - first timers are welcome (and encouraged)!
Asking for a small donation at the door to help support Yavneh - $10/person, $18/family, or anything your budget allows.
