About Us

Yavneh is the Triangle area's first Jewish Renewal congregation. Grounded in prophetic and mystical traditions, Jewish Renewal reaches across Jewish denominations to bring creativity, relevance, and joy to Jewish spiritual practice.

Yavneh is a diverse community.  Our members include Jews-by-birth, Jews-by-choice, non-Jews, straights, gays, students, young adults, families, empty-nesters, seniors, scholars, novices, men, women, skeptics, and true-believers.

Since 2019, Yavneh has met for worship at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh, 3313 Wade Ave, Raleigh, NC  27607. As a "synagogue-without-walls," we utilize existing spaces and refrain from pouring more concrete on our beautiful planet, further the cause of deep ecumenism through alliances with other faith communities, and avoid the expense of building ownership.

From September through May, Kabbalat Shabbat services are usually held the first and third Friday evenings of the month starting at 7:45 pm, with Saturday Morning worship services the second and sometimes fourth Saturday of the month starting at 10:30 am.  From June through August, we gather for worship twice each month.  Please consult our calendar to confirm days and times, as there are occasional exceptions to our worship pattern.

Our High Holy Day services are open to the entire Triangle community without charge. Additional information can be found here.
