Make Friends
Highlights from our Hanukkah FUNdraiser, 2011
Over 70 people attended the 2nd Annual Hanukkah FUNdraiser at the Irregardless Cafe. We certainly did have fun - and music, and dancing, and stories and especially latkes - lots of latkes!
Many thanks to Arthur and Anya Gordon for donating their wonderful restaurant and the services of their amazing Chef. Thanks also to Mishpacha, our favorite Jewish singing group, to Cantor K for her lovely harmonies, and to Maggid Rachel Galper for her entertaining stories.
You can see from the pictures below everyone had a great time!

Do-it-Yourself Shabbat
Shabbat, the most important ritual observance in Judaism, is largely a
home-based observance. As a way of building community and welcoming newcomers, Yavneh members host monthly Do-it-Yourself Shabbats. Sign up to join a Yavneh community family as we welcome the Sabbath Bride. Check our calendar for the dates.
Anyone can register to participate on a first come, first served basis. The number of people who can be accommodated on any given Shabbat will depend on the number of host
volunteers and the size of their homes.
If you are new to the Triangle, new to Yavneh, or would just like to share Shabbat dinner with new friends, email us.
If you would like to host a Do-it-Yourself Shabbat dinner in your home, let us know.
If you have additional ideas for sharing Shabbat joy with children, with older people, or know of resources that will enrich everyone’s experience, we would love to hear from you.
Yavneh Book Club
One of our members leads a book club that meets monthly, except during the summer months. Help determine the reading list, meeting times and place, and discussion format.
Let us know if you are interested in joining.
