2015 Annual General Meeting
Dear Yavneh Members,
This spring marks Yavneh’s fifth anniversary. In many ways, we have been successful beyond our wildest expectations. Our programs are increasingly well attended. We have strengthened ties of friendship within the Jewish community and across multiple faith traditions. Just about every week we welcome someone new to one of our services or events. All of this we owe to our beloved Rabbi and to Cantor Karen.
However, the Board of Directors is looking for ways to secure a more reliable income stream in order to compensate our staff adequately for the good work they do and to ensure Yavneh’s stability over the next five years. To that end, we are looking at making some budget and programming changes.
We cannot do this without communicating to you, our members, and obtaining your input and consent to any changes we might make.
Our Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2015 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, at St. Mark’s. We will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert, and after the meeting welcome Shabbat together.
In past years, we have gladly accepted proxy votes from members who are unable to attend. This year we need you to be there to help us plan ahead.
So, while we will accept proxies as required by our bylaws, we ask that you make every effort to attend in person. We have some very important information to share. And we need your thoughts. If you love Yavneh and think of it as a spiritual home, please come and make your voice heard.
We will follow this message with a personal telephone call to each of our members.
Sincerely,
Yavneh Board of Directors

Margie Sved, Vice President/Treasurer
Janet Isaacs, Secretary
